From the beginning of 2012, existing Bodog players from America will be moved to a new U.S. friendly poker room called Bovada.

Bovada is a new poker room owned by the people behind Bodog. It is unusual in that while it accepts players from the U.S.A., it does not accept players from any other country. So it is a uniquely American poker room.

The software – in fact, everything – is the same as the Bodog site. Even the deposit limits and methods are the same as they are on Bodog.

This move is to protect their U.S. players against any governmental actions in the future.

All poker rooms on the Merge Gaming Network have stopped, temporarily, taking new players from the United States of America, starting from June 3rd.

This move is to allow the network catch up with the large influx of new American players that their poker rooms received in the wake of Black Friday. The number of player payment transactions almost doubled for this networks payment processors in the last few weeks and this has put pressure on the network.

We are told that this will only be temporary and that the temporary block on new American players will be lifted in four to six weeks.

*UPDATE* Some Merge rooms are now accepting U.S. players again. Nto all rooms do, but the main ones are. These include Carbon Poker which is the biggest room on the network.

Following the recent actions by the US Department of Justice and the FBI, the number of online poker rooms that accept players from America has been greatly reduced.

With Poker Stars, Full Tilt, Absolute and UltimateBet no longer accepting US players, the remaining rooms that are still American friendly are few, and not all have issued statements regarding their intent to remain US Friendly.

So far the Merge network has said that they will continue to accept Americans and that all player funds are 100% safe.

The poker room on the Merge network with the lowest deposit limits is still POKER HOST.

Poker Host has moved to the Merge Gaming Network (March 2010) and have now reduced their minimum deposit limits.

Previously their minimum deposit allowed was $10, but on the new software that has been reduced to $5 for players depositing using the MoneyBookers option.

Not only that, but you can fund your MoneyBookers account using a variety of different methods, and the deposit limit on most of these methods is $5. So, effectively, Poker Host will accept deposit through MoneyBookers from different payment methods for as little as $5.00.

This is great news for American players as Poker Host accepts players from the U.S.A. Before this change, the only online poker room that had a deposit limit of $5 was Everest Poker, and they do not accept American players at this time.
